Is it fear of someone saying no, do you think? I’d love to collaborate with you on Notelets on Nurture. A tarot spread for business strategy or nourishing your brand, perhaps?! That would be fun!
Marika and I are doing our first collab ever on Substack! So we are figuring it all out, experimenting and hopefully will have something at the end of it! It also allows me to play around with making cute illustrations! 😄 d
That’s exciting, Mika! I do love to see a joint effort. I think my favourite collaboration on here so far is possibly In Haste. I gobbled those podcast episodes up so quickly and loved the breadth and depth of the short conversations. What publication are you collaborating with?
Really enjoyed this post Sarah, and lots to think about. I'm starting my Motherhood and Creativity interview series on Sunday, and I've really enjoyed reaching out to mums who I really admire and asking them to be part of this. I've collaborated with guests on my podcast too and have loved those organic conversations and the energy like you mention in your post. I always enjoy reading collaborations too like your Notelets to Nurture series. These journalling prompts are so helpful too, I'm going to take the time to do this over the weekend, thank you!
Oh thank you, Claire! I’ll pop it on my thread so I can refer back if I decide to create a post with various collaborations. Will message you about our plans 💛
Thank you for this post Sarah. Collaboration has always been something that lights me up. In my PR role, I thrived on finding and setting up connections that felt aligned, creative and would be mutually beneficial for both parties. Working with journalists to place a story often felt like a collaboration too, especially when I knew them well enough to pitch the sort of thing they would be keen to write about.
I love having the two interview slots here on Substack, INSIDER & ATELIER — both explore a sort of behind the scenes into the ways that we live and the ways we create. It was an honour to have you as part of the ATELIER series Sarah and I loved writing for your Notelets on Nurture.
I am always open to collaboration when it feels aligned. It can often open up new ways of thinking and is a great way of creating something as a nourishing joint effort that can play to our strengths and showcase our gifts, and those of others’ xx
Insightful as always, Lyndsay! I’ve recently brought my This Creative Life series over from my website and it feels good to have this and Notelets on Nurture since they’re different types of post and attract different types of readers and comments and, hopefully, even more opportunities for collaboration ✨
I agree so much with the borrowing other people's communities and audiences, it's the best way to grow organically that there is - but people put so little energy into it in relation to their own content in social media for example. And how kind to include my selfish bookclub in your round up!
I am so fired up for the Press Play sessions, Sarah! As you know, this Friday is out for me, but I'll be diarising them for the months to follow. Definitely in need of some of these journal prompts too, and will report back...
These journalling prompts are very useful, even as a Substack newbie. The most important thing for me is creating a sense of community, and drawing together a close-knit group of like-minded individuals.
Thank you for these journaling prompts: I’m thinking quite intentionally about my own Substack at the moment and found these really helpful (building a sense of community & engaging with others is something I’m trying to work on).
Intentionality is so important. I’m trying to find some harmony between supporting my audience and supporting my energy. I suppose it’s about being conscious of what we’re giving to others and to ourselves…offering value while maintaining passion!
I've done a few Collaboration Station Substack chats, where some people have connected and we'll see what happens. One person shared how they did a collaborative mix with someone (I wrote about it here): https://socialmediaescapeclub.substack.com/p/always-seek-the-energy-of-creative
Thanks for sharing! Love the idea of a collaborative mixtape, and agree it’s important to seek opportunities out 👌🏻
I feel like I'd love to collaborate with someone. I tend to wait to be asked which is possibly why it hasn't happened

Oh I'd love to do that. How lovely. I think I just tend to assume people wouldn't be that interested. Lots to think about there. Let's be in touch.
I'd love to Claire! x

I love that you have, look forward to diving in and yes I am always open to chatting more xx

You’re so welcome! And I agree. There’s something really lovely about platform sharing.

Please do return and share your findings. Look forward to seeing you from next month!

You’re already very experienced in the realms of community and connection so I’ve no doubt you’ll cultivate that sense of belonging!
