The brand cards sound wonderful, what a lovely treat it would be to have on your work desk. I can imagine you will of course make them beautiful. :) and thanks for sharing Claire’s newsletters. Very helpful and insightful xx
Thank you, Kathryn! So happy you’re excited for the cards and am SO here for the design phase! Excited to share the refreshed branding too since what you see here is a placeholder 😃
I have now read it three times and I felt cosy, slow and nurturing every time. I can’t wait to see the cards come to life, such a wonderful idea. What beautiful seeds you have sown 🌱
I love this: “To enjoy a thoughtful season of sowing and listening to my intuition before shifting into a playful season of blooming. It’s been something of an in-between time. One chapter has ended, and after a period of being in chrysalis, the next is about to begin.” I feel often, both at work and personally, we are nudged to do things, rather than let it come naturally, and have the necessary pauses to let the idea develop into the shape that it should. If I had published my book when 2 years ago, it would be something so different and less myself. Now, it’s becoming what I want it to be.
This so say, I love the way you work and I am so excited for your seeds. I can’t wait to read more of your nurturing ways to look at the creative process. ✨
You’re always so kind, Nadja! Thank you. I’m glad this resonated. And you’re right, it’s important to have regular check-ins with our ideas, if we can, to see if they’re still aligned. Excited to see your book come to life 💫
So exciting to read this. I look forward to watching it all unfold. the way you share as well as what you share is so helpful and inspiring. Thank-you.
I know that it will all be beautiful, purposeful and useful.
Ohhh this all sounds so exciting, Sarah! Being able to follow along is how excitement can grow instead of being presented to a finished product that may come as a surprise. All the learnings I’m looking forward to 🥰
Thank you for your support, Carmen! There’s much to be said for keeping some things to ourselves but I’m enjoying releasing this project into the wild 🌱⛅️🍂❄️
Oh for sure! Totally agree. Often we process within when something feels still very raw and vulnerable and once this stage is “complete” sharing is beautiful ✨
I’m so excited for this Sarah! And I love the idea of following along with your journey as it develops. So many share the journey after the reach their destination so to share alongside will be so interesting! Sara Tasker suggested I should share my journey of transitioning from being an accountant for an organisation to setting up on my own as I go.. I love the idea but wonder if it might be a tad boring 😂. Now we’re back from hols, it’s on my list! 💛
Do you know, I’ve been going over this in my mind, wondering if people will be interested in seeing things unfold. So I’m trying to add more value and make it worthwhile. But I think the Substack community is full to the brim with curious folk who are interested in how and why we’re doing things. And career shifting and shaping is a huge topic right now 😊
I really enjoyed reading this and this quote really resonated:
"To enjoy a thoughtful season of sowing and listening to my intuition before shifting into a playful season of blooming."
This is such a lovely way to approach things, it's like the opposite of what we are taught/what's expected, that keep going, keep pushing energy and feeling like we have to have things figured out straight away. I'll definitely be coming back to this idea of sowing and blooming, it feels more gentle.
Your plans for the card deck, podcast and paper are very exciting too, looking forward to hearing more!
It’s so hard to make time for thinking, and for being, when we’re so wired for doing. Don’t you think? Like most folk, I learned the hard way! So it’s nice to finally be approaching life and work a little differently 💛
Absolutely, it takes self-discipline too not to get distracted, and I get distracted very easily! It feels like such a lovely way to approach things. I feel like I'm in the sowing stage of my business, keeping on sowing those seeds in the hope of them blooming one day. Reminds me of my Clematis plant in the garden, barely grew or flowered for 3 years, then boom this year it's literally taken over my garden!
Ooo Sarah this is just all so glorious and I'm so pleased for your trademark - what an interesting process to have gone through...
It's all of those little self seeded wild flowers that continue to support your growth as you grow your little human too - very reassuring to read this beautiful language of yours and know how much my work is supporting your journey.
I love how strategic you were ahead of your mat leave - it's one of the hardest transitions to manage as a woman but can be the most rewarding too as flowers grow all around us in the most unexpected place.
Thanks for the mention and as always for your support! Cx
It really does feel like maternity leave has supported my creativity this time around. When I was a first time mum it was so bloody hard. I was so very lost 😞
This week has been a rough ride actually and I’ve noticed how helpful it is for my mental health to get those tiny pockets of time to think and write. And how supported I feel after sharing here. Substack is my soft place to land!
I’d be happy to expand on trademarking in my next post. It gave me a real boost, particularly after I helped a client go through the tricky process of rename and rebrand after a very unfair trademark dispute. She’s now thriving, thankfully 💛
Oh how exciting all your plans sound, I especially adore the idea of the cards! Cannot wait to see them come alive. Thank you for sharing the behind the scenes parts of evolution... it’s so often hidden away as you say but actually the process itself is so rich in magic and it feels special you are bringing us along on the journey. Celebrating all of you xxxxx
Thank you so much, Lauren! This was a hugely vulnerable share for me so your comment means a lot. So often we’re told to keep our best ideas under wraps in case they lose their magic but, with this, I felt called to be more open! Pleased you’re looking forward to seeing the cards. So much fun to create and I hope they can be a useful part of the branding journey 💛
I have no doubt they will be magical! I think something so beautiful about sharing the tender seeds... they can grow stronger with the support of community and the love from all of your cheerleaders! Xx
This was part of my thinking. It’s given me some accountability and also created a sense of community around it all...of belonging and growing it together, I think? Business can be a lonely ride so I wanted to shift that feeling 🥰
Agreed! So much of that independence comes from fear too I think (for me anyway) and so I am actively trying to stretch myself out of those beliefs! Xx

I think that’s a brilliant metaphor for where you’re at. You’ll be blooming in no time 🌼
I hope so ❤️, for now I'll keep sowing those seeds.

Ahh my third part in this sowing series is all about fear and releasing ideas into the wild so perhaps you’ll resonate with it 💛
Ahhhh I so look forward to that xxx
