A warm welcome to all the new folks here! As I continue to welcome people into this new community, a gathering place for those of us turning the pages of our lives with curiosity and creativity, I'd like to make space for connection.
So, how about we introduce ourselves?
Let me kick things off: I'm Sarah, a designer, mentor and writer with more than 20 years of experience in marketing and design. You can find me on Instagram, Pinterest, and my website, These Are The Days, as well as my Inside Story letters.
Originally from Edinburgh, I now work from my home, nestled in the Scottish Borders, alongside my partner, Jonathan. And when I’m not in my studio, you’ll find me writing (memoir in progress, which feels stretchy to share in a new space), reading (usually nature-inspired memoir, creative non-fiction or a Maggie O'Farrell novel) or exploring with the littlest members of the team: our colour-loving lass, happy-natured lad and curious cat!
I find comfort in ritual. Making a hot drink in a favourite mug, lighting a candle with intention, and cosying up indoors with a seasonal playlist. But I’m just as at home in nature, and with a deep affinity for the sea, the stunning and tranquil Isle of Harris is my happy place. I can't wait to return.
The sense of belonging in this space is also nourishing my creativity in a big way! You'll find me writing regular updates about the Brand Seasons® project, and my Sunday series, Notelets on Nurture, has offered a lovely opportunity to connect.
“I don't even remember the season. I just remember walking between them and feeling for the first time that I belonged somewhere.”
— Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

What a lovely invite! I’m Claire, I’m a slow lived entrepreneur - 6 years into that journey and 15 into being self employed. I’m in service to creatives in a multitude of ways in my work. We live in Northumberland by the coast with our two children and 7 pet chickens. We’ve had chickens for a long time now but will be letting them move on soon to make space for a garden studio. ✨ 🛖
Creativity impacts my wellbeing so massively I wouldn’t be without it. ✨ I am so looking forward to booking a session with you Sarah when you’re back at work! It’s in my 10 year plan to work with a brand specialist! I think we’ll be such a great fit! ✨🪴🙌🏻
Hi Sarah! Thanks for the warm welcome. I discovered Brand Seasons recently, although I can't remember if it was through Notes or ... ?! ... I resonate with the coziness and intentionality of your space.
I'm Kathryn. I have been a full-time writer for almost twenty years, and I'm passionate about exploring the complex relationship between art and mental health - celebrating art as therapy and catharsis but also being honest about the shadow side (the ways in which art harms, the impact of mental health symptoms on creativity.)
At 43, I've just returned to school for a second Masters in Visual and Critical Studies, and I'm curious/excited to see how that changes/shapes/moves me. Other things I enjoy: crocheting and making collage art, snuggling with my large rescue dogs, exploring all nooks and crannies of San Francisco, reading (mostly women's memoirs, lately more fiction as well) and long conversations about meandering topics.
Looking forward to being part of your community here.
