I had a conversation yesterday where we touched on Big Magic and the story of how our ideas will often make their way to someone else if we don't seize them. So that encouraged me to simply begin! Thanks for your support and good luck with your own creative plans x
I had plans to launch a podcast named Creative State. My first business name, and I've held onto the domain all these years. Then someone launched with the same name last year. I was enraged! But in hindsight, I think it's worked out!
Hello, hello! Lovely to connect with you here too, Louise. I’m finding the platform a tad overwhelming to get to grips with, I think because there are so many features, but I’m slowly settling in x
It has been noisy since the introduction of new features but the way I’ve navigated that is just to read the posts of the people I have subscribed too. And even that can feel a lot so sometimes I just have to archive and not read too much content in one day/week. I think my approach with Substack is so different to all other social media in that it has to work for me. If it’s too loud then I need to be the one to adjust the volume. Xx
I’m trying to be mindful of what I subscribe to and also stick to posts and notes. I don’t really understand how best to use notes though...and I feel the same about chats. So I’ll keep going gently with it all x
Seeing people leave Instagram and settle here may have influenced my decision to hop over! I still enjoy Instagram, but not sure it's the platform for conversations about this new thing. Substack feels safer somehow 💛

That thought has been branded on the inside of my brain since reading that book. Sometimes it's galvanising and sometimes it haunts me!
