Curating a moodboard

First up in my brand styling series for paid subscribers is an introduction to crafting a moodboard.

I believe this to be one of the most fun-filled and inspiring parts of the design process. Whether envisioning a new brand identity or creating a visual style for a specific project, such as a book, product or service, moodboarding brings a sense of aliveness when making something new.

As well as offering a clear focus, moodboards ensure those involved in a project share a unified vision. They can be extra helpful if you’re working with different stakeholders—a photographer, illustrator or copywriter, for example. They are a valuable reference for maintaining clarity as you continue to develop your business or project and make creative decisions.
